Birthday hair nightmare!

It was three days before I was supposed to go to New Hampshire for a huge birthday party that my friends were throwing me, and my hair needed a pick-me-up. Boy, did it get one!

I wanted it to be a reddish color with gold highlights. Well, apparently the stylist didn't realize that mixing red hair dye with white highlight mix would make pink--- that is, until I was staring myself in the mirror with fuscia colored hair! I was horrified! I couldn't go to my birthday party with fuscia hair! What made it even worse was that I had to go to work that day with that hair, because I had no time to get it fixed before hand. Talk about mortified! I think next time, I'll use box color.

I cannot believe that Butch did not win on last nights episode! What was the audience thinking??? He was ROBBED, RAILROADED and he deserves a REMATCH!!!

After seeing episode 102 I was appalled by a coment Peter made. He said that there is a big difference in the quality of a haircut that costs $50 dollars as opposed to one that is $500. I work for a salon where cuts cost $13. I can guarantee, the quality of my work is just as good if not better than any master stylist. The price of a haircut does not matter, it is all about the stylist, and their passion for their work. I guarantee that given the chance, I could blow one of your master stylists out of the water. Peter is trying to give small town stylists a bad name and I promise you that one day soon I will make hime eat his words.

I would also really like a picture of the brunette's hair that Laura did (1st). Maybe you could post the winners or "before" and "afters" from the show.
Thanks

this is by far one of the worst shows on television!!! i am a stylist of 10 years and this is one of the most degrading shows to stylist everywhere!! first of all you CANNOT do quality work in 45 min.!!! who decided this would be a good idea-that queen from survivor that knowbody knows!! secondly, the judges on this show are jokes!!! i guess now that peter ishkhans has been on "a few" reality shows he thinks he knows whats what? someone needs to tell him a little less sass would go a long way and maybe he should be one of the models with his roller set 1980"s hair!! get some class oxygen!!

How do I get on this show?

I have to agree with the previous post. 45 minutes? No wonder the hair looks like Aunt Nancy did it in the kitchen of her trailer. I also found it interesting when some of the hair "gods" didn't even do all of their own work. Iron Chef mixed with Regis. Way to go, Oxygen. Peter Ishkhans...you must stop. Can you say "gay bitter"? Wait he's not gay. Can you say "british bitter"? Who are these people? Survivor guy. As a stylist, I appreciate you continuing the sterotype of every stylist in West hollywood in 1983. All of us can't thank you enough. Next week he'll be talking about how cool banana clips are.(sigh) I hope another network takes this concept and gives it some class, and realism.

I want to be the next BIG Tease. I have had a passion for hair since I can remember, starting with barbie's hair and moving on from there. I also have a US patent on a hair highlighting tool that simplifies the foil process. I deserve to be on this show and I could beat anyone you put me up against. I have been a trainer, platform artist (for the now famous William Whatley), manager of a multicultural salon, booth rental and salon owner. 18 years experience and counting. Please contact me when you need some really GOOD sylist.
Thank you,
Kari Brown

This is by far one of the worst shows on television, and the quality of the hairdressers is very questionable, even those there call them "Celebrity stylists", its total degrading for the Hairdresser world!
I am a European stylist been in this industry more than 20 years. This show is absolute the worst I ever have seen, please stop that "Hair war"

I naturally have a light ash brown hair with a little blond. For the last couple years I have gotten blond highlights a couple times a year. I have long hair and the lenght was really starting to look a little brassy. A couple months ago I went to my stylist of 4 years to get some of the blond darkened back toward my natural color. It turned rather red. I hate red in my hair. I was told that red washes out easy, "don't worry". It has not. I tried washing alot with Prell. I even got more ash brown with some blond highlights put on. It looked good for a week and then the brown washed out to reveal the red tones. I am getting married in May and need to take engagement pictures. I am really pretty devistated. My hair was really important to me for my wedding, I worked hard to get it long and healthy and then this happened. Any advice?

Why would Oxygen bother to have a hairstyling competition and a web link with information on the show and the stylists and not provide photos of the hairstyles? I just don't get it! Aren't these types of shows meant to give consumers ideas?
Legacy: 02/11/2007 8:27 PM
I like the concept of the show, however, 45 minutes is not a long time to give a quality style even from a "master stylist". And let's face it..I know in the end, the challenger will not win, even when they deserve to. The 'master stylists" will always win and that takes away from the show.
